Website owners faced €190 legal demands over Google Fonts.
In 2022 a Munich court awarded €100 damages because a site loaded a Google font without asking the visitor. Within months more than 100,000 German site owners received letters demanding €100 plus €90 in fees. Many paid before another court called the wave abusive.
